SciFi and Fantasy Art: Moonwalker'She watched, statuesque and transfixed, as the moon slowly rose over the city, cold, serene, watchful. Miranda drank in the light, ambrosial to her moon-starved body. The crystal lodestone hanging from her starlight neck took in the moonglow with a ferocity, channeling it to its own power... Even her skin seemed to soak in the light from the fragmented satelite as it would sunlight, only, instead of tanning, she paled, grew more creamy and white, soft as swan's down and softer still.... and she was wild, an amoral thing, a creature of mortal flesh containing an as of yet unawakened, and unknowing celestial being, complete without flaw or color, without malice or benevolence. Her eyes were closed, seduced by the enticing light, and slept. She neither swayed nor wavered on her perch so dangerously high above the noisy world. In truth, she could have been no more than a statue as she fed, sustaining herself on moon-light.'
Finally colored, (PS6) a sketch for a story I did just out of highschool. The sketch is at the moment in Lothlorian but will soon be moving here perhaps. | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 25 Mar 2003 | Andrea 'Terminus' Tee Shao-Wen | Love this one, and the colour of her dress. I like the way you do tones and shading...a great job yet again, Sandra! my hat goes off to you. Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "*bows graciously* Thank you. Always glad when something comes out well. And more so when others appreciate it. I confess I'm having too much fun with the smudge tool. Can't wait til I get a wacom!" | |
| 31 Mar 2003 | Amy L. Moore | Really nicely composed. It is a nice pic. Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "thank you. I've been wanting to finish this one for years. THanks to you, I know have the skills, and to Ed for the program!" | |
| 2 Apr 2003 | Charlotte Mei Jennings | Ooooooooo...flowy dress...pretty lady...nice story...oooooooooo...O.O Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "thank you. and, promise, some day I'll fix the story and post her" | |
| 7 Nov 2003 | Wendy | I like this one too- but it seems like her hair should be blonde- I donna know- maybe I'm just weird...oh,well, I still love it! and the story!! Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "nah, some of her sisters were blond. I think it depended on where they landed. Say, I got some other REALLy good stuff in the zone that could use some attention....." | |
| 9 Nov 2003 | Hawke | yipes. She looks like she's gonna fall. I like. Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "giggle. see above. THanks for the appreciation though" | |
| 9 Nov 2003 | Pippa Carter | Caaaaareful lady............. Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "LOL. I can no more easily fall than a star can, for here it is that I feed, upon the light and the night and the wind beneath the gaze of my sisters who have not yet taken my path and walked among men" | |
| 24 Nov 2003 | Eunice | She looks like my mom?!!! EW! Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "as they say in the industry "All resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental".Though... is her looking like your mom a good or a bad thing?" | |
| 15 Apr 2004 | Francine Harris | really nice!!! I love everything about it (she looks sorta like me other than the dress, I never wear dersses), but there seems to be way too much lipstick. but still the awsome pic! Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "thanks, though this is an old pic redone. as for lipstick, it's probably not. I went with the snow white concept of hair of ebony, skin like snow and lips like blood" | |
| 3 Oct 2004 | Merenwen Alcarin (Wild) | It´s so... wow! If I could picture that good I would be briliant! (Excuse my english, it´s not so good!) Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "thank you, and your English isn't that bad. You only forgot one verb. "If I could DRAW (or paint) a picture that good (though this should be "well" but even most Americans get that wrong, even me)..." though I don't consider myself brilliant, thank you." | |
| 11 Jan 2007 | Tracy Squires | beautiful composition, the gesture is wonderful, it looks like the character is about to float away. keep working on your lighting. the inside of the sleeve should be darker, also under the breast, the back of her arm the back of her head (especially sense her hair is so dark. Also the ledge she's standing on is working but a little hint to blend it in with the background would be to use the background colors. It looks like you've kinda fogged out the background, so before you done that you could have grabed the eye dropper tool and used the colors right out of the background. that way the for-and background would be unified in color, even though the background is much less saturated. Sandra Leigh Wagner replies: "Thanks. I'll try to keep that in mind. THe background was actually the last thing put in so it was kinda late for that kinda thing. By the time I had the building finished I just wanted to be DONE with the thing. Problem with ADHD in an artist, you know?" | |
